Custom lighting on the island and toekicks added a touch of sophistication to this one-for-one kitchen remodel.

The homeowners wanted a complete overhaul of their dated kitchen with matching oak cabinetry and a new island. 

The Tuckers had been dreaming of a kitchen space that they could enjoy with family and friends and which incorporated access to their deck. (see "Exteriors" section for more on the deck) 

When a large tree fell on the roof of their living room after a bad storm, damaging windows, a skylight and sliding glass door, the homeowners decided to turn a crisis into an opportunity.

The main living area in this home was once an exterior porch. The space now features hardwood floors and an expansive view of the property through windows that are trimmed in cherry lumber harvested from the property by the owner's father. 

The homeowners liked the layout of their kitchen, but felt a refresh was needed to brighten things up and give the space a more modern look.

The Nolans desired to update their master bath and create a "modern industrial sanitarium" vibe.
